Australia has distinct eastern and western populations of Grey Nurse Shark, each inhabiting an approximate 2700-kilometre stretch of coastal waters. The eastern population is nationally listed as Critically Endangered. In 2018, Hub scientists provided a new estimate of adult population size for this population that indicated some recovery of the population since the onset of protection.
